I was lucky enough to be chosen to trial this on one of the websites I write reviews on. I received a 5ml bottle which seems to have lasted me very well as a little goes a long way. This was my very first product I ever tried from Bodhi and since then I have grown to love their products and rate them highly.
According to Wikipedia
“Bodhi in Buddhism is the understanding possessed by a Buddha regarding the nature of things. It is traditionally translated into English with the word enlightenment and literally means awakened.”
Bodhi is an English company and are against animal testing and also only use the finest natural ingredients . Bulgarian Damask Rose Otto, Somalian Frankincense Oil, Black Pepper Oil from Madagascar, Galangal Root Essential Oil from Cambodia, Palmarosa from India, Ylang-Ylang Extra from Commores and Jasmine Absolute from Egypt are all used in their various products.
Their Bath & Shower products are created using mild cleansers derived from coconut oil and fruit sugars so they do not strip skin of natural oils.
All their products are free from parabens, sulphates, phthalates, propylene glycol, PABA, palm oil, mineral oil, paraffin, petrochemicals, DEA, synthetic colours or fragrances and animal ingredients.
When I first got this I opened the slide off lid and tried some on my fingers. The product is an oil and clear but has the most amazing earthy rose scent. It is rose with something like vetivert or similar giving a really earthy background to the rose so it isn’t grannyish at all and also not sickly sweet.
Although it is oily I did find that it was very quickly absorbed into my skin as you really only needed a tiny amount to spread thinly in order for the product to work. I just love the scent as I apply it to my face and can smell it for quite some time after application.
WHAT MAKES THIS WORK?
This fine face oil is effective as it uses the anti-ageing benefits of:
Bulgarian Damask Rose Otto which helps to tone, smooth and soften as well as repair and regenerate skin cells.
Organic Moroccan Argan Oil is rich in essential fatty acids and this helps restore skin’s elasticity an stimulates cell renewal.
Rosehip Seed Oil is 80% essential fatty acids and is high in vitamins A,B and C and this helps reducs signs of aging
Tunisian neroli oil helps the healing of dry, sensitive skin and also improves skin’s elasticity.
Also in this product we find Kukui nut oil, strawberry seed oil, evening primrose oil and vitamin E so this oil is full of essential vitamins, anti-oxidants and fatty-acids all of which help reduce the signs of aging in skin..
According to Bodhi the oil is designed to be an intense moisturiser and hydrate tired skin. It also will help to rejuvenate skin and encourage cell regeneration so making skin look fresher and therefore younger and more alive.
They claim that your “Complexion will appear dramatically refined, renewed and even-toned with a youthful glowing radiance. Fine lines are visibly diminished.”
The oil is designed to be used by people with normal/dry skin rather than oily and also those with mature or stressed skin will benefit.
I do have sensitive skin that does react to some face products and we were advised to do a skin test 24 hours prior to using this .I watched my skin carefully when I initially used my face oil and so far I have NOT had any bad reactions from this one.
We were advised to use this morning and night after cleansing and toning.
I did this and used my fingers to smooth one pump on my face and then if I needed I used a second pump.
According to Bodhi this oil should be applied after whatever serum you use and then before your moisturiser. I don’t use serum every day and certainly not in the morning but I do sometimes apply some at night. So I applied this before my moisturiser in the morning and as suggested at night.
Do I look younger? Well. Not sure about that but my skin does feel soft and looks more fresh and alive. I find that my makeup goes on really easily and evenly after using this which is an added bonus. I don’t find my skin feels oily at all just soft and plumped with a nice glow.
Bodhi also suggested that after applying to our face if we used left over oil on our fingers and rubbed this into our cuticles then it would soften them nicely too. I don’t have that much left on my fingers but did as they suggested and it does indeed help soften them and make it easy to push them back.
This is quite a potent natural product and should only be used by adults. If after using you do experience any reaction then stop using immediately.
Keep away from your eyes so apply with care and don’t rub your eyes with your fingers after applying.
This needs to be stored away from heat and light but the bottle is dark so this does keep most of the normal light away from the contents.
Once you have opened this it is best used within six months which for my 5ml bottle shouldn’t be too much of a problem.
Yes I would say this is a lovely natural product and I will certainly be trying their other. Although the price is a little high as 15 ml for £38. The 5ml bottle costs £14 which is a good way of trying this to see if it suits you and this is an intensely concentrated and all natural product so a little goes a long way.
